Roberto Riobo
Born in Buenos Aires, Roberto’s family
heritage is intertwined with the roots of tango.
His interest in the music of tango,
sparked in his early childhood by his mother,
lead him to the University of Tango,
where Gloria and Rodolfo Dinzel are
the directors,
focusing on the history and evolution
of both the music and the dance, and how
it reflects the political climate and social
consciousness of Argentina.
This social historical context serves as
the groundwork for his classes.

As students of Argentine tango soon learn,
tango is about connection.
For Roberto Riobo this connection,
a heart, body, and soul , is everything.
Students willing to exceed fundamental
tango moves and who desire a genuine
experience of the culture of tango
are invited to enter the world of tango
where there is no separation between music,
dance and dancer.
Roberto leads students to discover where
in their bodies dance comes from,
the emotional center,
which is the essence of tango.
Working from the inside out,
which is the core of Roberto’s teaching style,
as well as his contagious passion for tango,
are likely to lead students to dance tango
at its best and enjoy the experience
of it not only on the dance floor,
but also as it extends into their lives.
